BarTender v9.3 Service Release Downloads

Overview

The free Service Release at the bottom of this page can only be used to update existing copies of BarTender where the version number begins with 9.3. For other versions of BarTender:

• If you have version 10.0: Because you have the latest version of Bartender, you can update for free to the latest service release available.
• If you have a version older than 10.0: You can only update for free to the latest service release available for your version. However, as long as your version is 9.2 or greater, you can always purchase an update to the very latest version of BarTender.

About BarTender 9.3

BarTender 9.3 (build 2704) was first released on May 14, 2010. However, the new features displayed in English only. Please click here for more detailed information about BarTender 9.3.

BarTender 9.3 Service Releases

Service Release #2 (build 2725) of BarTender version 9.3 was released on September 23, 2010 with the following enhancements:

• Fixed two Seagull License Server printer counting issues:
  1. Execution of BarTender's on screen "Print Preview" now no longer counts against the total number of printers in use.
  2. BarTender now no longer uses extra printer licenses when using standard TCP/IP port printers.  (This problem previously occurred for users of non-English versions of Windows Vista & Windows 7)
• License Server Backward Compatibility: Restored backward compatibility between version 9.3 of the Seagull License Server and BarTender versions 7.7 through 8.01.  (The original version 9.3 of SLS never lost backward compatibility with BarTender versions 9.0 through 9.2.)
• RFID Support: Added RFID encoding support for Primera’s model RX900 RFID printer
• Version 7.2 Drivers: The BarTender 9.3 SR2 product CD ships with version 7.2 printer Drivers by Seagull.  Support was added for numerous additional printers from several printer manufacturers.
• Updated Documentation: All documentation, including Manuals, Quick Start Sheets and Brochures are fully updated with version 9.3 information in all 23 supported languages.

Service Release #1 (build 2715) of BarTender version 9.3 was released on July 20, 2010 with the following enhancements:

• Updated Translations: In the release of version  9.3 that originally shipped in May, all new features were available in English only. SR1 released the translations of the new features in all 23 supported international languages
• Additional EPC RFID Data Formats: Support for EPC's Tag Data Standard version 1.4 was added.  Newly-support data formats included GDTI-113 and GRSN-96.
• New GS1 Barcode Formats: Over 100 additional GS1 barcode formats were added to the "Standard Barcodes" folder of the BarTender Toolbox.

Installation Instructions

Starting with BarTender 9.0, the update instructions became simpler than they were for previous versions of BarTender. After downloading the latest BarTender 9.x service release:

• If you Already Installed a Version of BarTender 9.3: Do not bother to remove your old software. Simply, install the Service Release over your existing installation of BarTender 9.3. You will not be prompted to re-enter your original Product Key Code (PKC).
• If you Never Installed BarTender 9.3: Simply perform a new install of your downloaded BarTender 9.3 service release. When prompted for a Product Key Code (PKC), provide the one that came with your original copy of BarTender 9.3.

The "BarTender only" option is the smallest file and will therefore download the fastest. The larger "Full BarTender Suite" downloads include Librarian, Security Center, Commander, Printer Maestro, Print Station, and the rest of the Companion Applications. They also include the BarTender .NET SDKs.

The multilingual downloads support instant switching of the user-interface between more than 20 languages, but they take somewhat longer to download than English only. (The supported languages can be seen in the list of BarTender "Getting Started" Manuals.)

If you are updating an installation of either of the two Automation editions, we recommend that you also update Seagull License Server. (This is not needed for Basic and Professional editions.)
